Type III radio bursts
As for the interplanetary shocks, the study of interplanetary in-situ type III bursts is an important science goal for RPW. And for the same reasons, it was decided to implement an in-situ Type III detection algorithm which is also described in this document.
The automatic detection algorithm for in-situ Type III bursts is producing the so-called SBM2 data for Selected Burst Mode 2.
